uniDEM supports statistical analysis of the loaded shapefile geometries and metadata.

Geometry Profile

Calculates positional statistics within the selected region (if polygon or rectangle drawn), or all selected dataset layers if no selection.

• Number of geometries in the analysis
• Mean (average) for X, Y and Z coordinates
• Minimum X, Y and Z coordinates
• Maximum X, Y and Z coordinates
• Standard deviation for the X, Y and Z coordinates

Metadata Profile

Calculates shapefile's metadata statistics about the selected region (if polygon or rectangle drawn) or all selected dataset layers if no selection.

The statistics can be generated for any available metadata field in the shapefile.

The statistic include the total point count and a listing of all las classes within the selected region.

Each class includes:

• Count - number of points for the selected metadata field
• Non-Zero Count - Number of points for the selected metadata field that are not zero. Useful for viewing the number of points that have the overlap or withheld flag set
• Mean value - average of the metadata field being profiled
• Standard deviation - standard deviation value of the metadata field being profiled
• Minimum - value of the metadata field being profiled
• Maximum - value of the metadata field being profiled
• A histogram indicating the distribution of the metadata values
