uniDEM Convert Classifications

uniDEM supports converting vector breakline data to raster classifications and raster classifications to 3D vector breaklines in shapefile (shp) format.

(Import) From Geometry

Assign a classification to all selected pixels defined by a geometry layer or file.

Default shortcut: none

(Import) From Raster

Assign a classification to all selected pixels defined by a raster layer or file.

Default shortcut: none

(Export) To Polygons

Convert raster based land use classifications in the CLASS layer to 2D or 3D polygons / breaklines and written as ESRI shapefiles (*.shp).

  1. Classify features
  2. Select the region to create polygons over
  3. Select the dataset with the associated CLASS layer to use
  4. Select one or more classification values to use
  5. Select 2D or 3D polygons
  6. If 3D, choose the elevation model (DEM) to use for elevation extraction
  7. Select the output file name

The outputted shapefile will be written in the same projection as the dataset. Each polgon will have one attribute entitled "CLASS" which will hold the classification value of the region.
